We're Going Mobile!
The Stateline Pregnancy Clinic has recently purchased a used ambulance for the purpose of reaching those facing a crisis pregnancy in areas where a free pregnancy resource clinic is not readily accessible. SPC’s Mobile Unit will operate like a center-on-wheels. Clients will have an opportunity to receive free pregnancy testing, pregnancy options information, and prenatal vitamins. The Mobile will offer ultrasound viewing to determine the gestational age to interested clients. A licensed RN and trained client advocate will be available to answer the questions and concerns of any clients during the mobile’s operational hours.
When Stateline Pregnancy Clinic’s Executive Director, Marybeth Karstaedt knew it was time to purchase a used ambulance for the purpose of creating the mobile pregnancy clinic, she decided to contact local Beloit Fire Chief, Bradley Liggett. Chief Liggett took time out of his busy schedule to help the pregnancy clinic find a suitable vehicle to meet their needs. “It’s wonderful to have such a community minded leader like Fire Chief Liggett serving here,” said Karstaedt. “He went above and beyond to help us in our search. His expertise was invaluable to us. We are so grateful for his help.”
SPC’s Mobile Unit is scheduled to be parked at Hope Free Evangelical Church located at 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL on the first and third Tuesday of the Month beginning in June of 2015, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Director Karstaedt said they are working on having a presence in other local communities soon. She hopes to get the word out to the residents of South Beloit, Rockton and Roscoe. This free resource is sure to be an asset to the community.
Prospective clients may call ahead to make an appointment through SPC’s office at 608.365.5433, or contact them through their website at www.omgimpg.com. Walk-ins are welcome but may experience a wait as services are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please do not call the church, as scheduling is done directly through the Clinic.Other free services provide clients with the necessary educational information, tools and support that enables them to make healthy life choices for themselves and the future of their children. Parenting programs offer Earn-While-You-Learn incentives that give clients an opportunity to earn Baby Bucks for the purchase baby necessities in the on sight Baby Boutique. Some items include brand new car seats, cribs, strollers, and electric breast pumps along with diapers, wipes, clothing and some mommy necessities too. All programs are facilitated at Stateline Pregnancy Clinic’s main location at 347 West Grand Avenue in Beloit, WI.
